(1) As far as tensile strength is concerned, the glass fiber board is low and the carbon fiber board is 3000 ~ 5000MPa high. Aramid fiber can also produce products greater than 3000MPa in recent years; aramid is poor in heat resistance of organic fiber; glass fiber cost Low; glass fiber and carbon fiber are brittle fibers. When used, the weaving entanglement is slightly worse. The aramid fiber has good toughness and is easy to weave and entangle.
(2) In terms of tensile strength and modulus, carbon fiber CF> aramid KF> glass fiber GF, but the elongation at break of CF is very small, sometimes it can not meet the requirements. Density GF> CF> KF. The advantage of glass fiber is that it is cheaper, much cheaper than carbon fiber and aramid. Aramid is distinguished by its impact resistance and can be used as a bulletproof garment, but aramid is easy to absorb moisture.
(3) The advantages of aramid fiber compared with carbon fiber:
a. Aramid fiber is not conductive (carbon fiber is conductive). In addition, carbon fiber is used to reinforce concrete structures, and it must be isolated from steel bars to prevent electrochemical corrosion. Aramid fiber is not limited by this.
b. Carbon fiber cloth has low shear strength and is easy to break. This makes the chamfering requirements higher during construction, and the chamfer radius is not less than 20mm, while the aramid fiber only needs 10mm.
c. The high elastic modulus of carbon fiber makes it able to withstand long-term static load. This is its outstanding advantage, and aramid fiber is more competitive for dynamic and local impact.
d. Carbon fiber has certain advantages compared with aramid fiber cloth when used to limit the deflection of the beam, but aramid fiber is undoubtedly a more suitable material in terms of operability in construction.
e. The failure mode of carbon fiber reinforcement is brittleness (small structural deformation and small limit elongation of carbon fiber cloth), without obvious signs, so as a structural design, a larger safety factor must be adopted.
